Lazio

Cradle of western civilization and Christian culture, legends and history, ancient streets and verdant hills: this is Lazio, a region of central Italy bathed by the Tyrrhenian Sea, crossed by the waters of the Tiber River and characterized by prevalence hilly and mountainous but flat near the coast.
Knowing and discovering Lazio is like looking through a history book: each page is linked to the other by a series of events that have left their mark on this splendid territory. This is Rome, the "eternal city": a set of traces to follow in order to reconstruct the history of our ancestors: Colosseum, Roman Forum, Campidoglio, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain.
About 40 kilometers from Rome, definitely worth a visit Tivoli with its two beautiful villas, Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Lazio gastronomy is very linked to the earth and made of intense and deep flavors, from simple and genuine dishes, such as spaghetti all'Amatriciana, enhanced by the flavor of guanciale and pecorino, spaghetti Carbonara, with eggs, pecorino and bacon and rigatoni pajata, lamb and vegetables, tripe trasteverina, tail to the vaccinara and saltimbocca alla romana, Roman artichoke, the porchetta of Ariccia.
There are numerous DOC wines of Lazio that accompany the tasty dishes of traditional cuisine; among these we mention the Aprilia, Aleatico di Gradoli, the wines of the Castelli Romani and Colli Albani and the Montefiascone.
