Lombardia

Lombardy is one of the most extensive Italian regions.
Its territory, which extends from the Alps to the lower Po Valley, gives life to a wide range of landscapes.
The scenery of the Alpine chain with Valchiavenna, Valtellina and Valcamonica is particularly fascinating.
Another characteristic landscape of the region is offered by the expanses of hills among which stands out the area of Franciacorta, famous for its vineyards and the production of wine.
And then, the charm of the great lakes. The western side of Lake Garda, with Sirmione and other renowned resorts, is a popular tourist destination; Lake Como and Lake Maggiore are also extremely beautiful, surrounded by noble villas, parks and charming villages.
Typical of the region are the large flat expanses of the lower Padana Plain covered with water and cultivated with rice fields: it is the typical landscape of Lomellina, the land of the mondine, rich in folklore and traditions.
Favored by the particular geographical position and the soil resources, Lombardy is a particularly rich land where nature, history, art and culture blend harmoniously with innovation, technology, fashion, entertainment and modernity.
