Sardinia Island

A journey sailing in a sea of emerald, between small and large coves with white sand: this is Sardinia, an island that amazes the visitor for its natural contrasts, lights and colors, a country of ancient traditions, surrounded by wild nature and pristine.
Located in the center of the Mediterranean, with a predominantly mountainous territory but without high peaks, Sardinia gives the visitor a unique natural environment, at the same time harsh and very sweet. In fact, man is in some areas almost a rare presence; vast areas have remained magically intact, inhabited by deer, wild horses and large birds of prey and are rich in small desert areas, ponds and lush forests with trees thousands of years old.
The sea reigns supreme with its colors and creeps in the tortuous coves along the coasts and beaches, in the most popular places. The Costa Smeralda with its pearl, Porto Cervo, is an example. Its Old Port is considered the best equipped marina in the Mediterranean. Porto Rotondo is also a popular tourist destination, overlooking the wide Gulf of Cugnana and is populated by villas and squares surrounded by magnificent nature.
Those who prefer the mountains to the sea can go to the discovery of Gennargentu, the largest mountain complex in Sardinia, with its pictorial sceneries where nature occupies a prominent place. Flora and fauna very rich with its mouflons, the golden eagles, the Sardinian deer and various species now on the verge of extinction.
Among its wonders, Sardinia offers visitors the nuragic complexes scattered throughout the territory, unique monuments in the world that testify to an ancient and still partly mysterious culture that goes from the fifteenth to the sixth century BC
The nuraghi, built with large blocks of stone, develop around a central tower in the shape of a truncated cone that conveys a feeling of solidity and power. These are archaeological sites where it is still possible to grasp the signs of ancient rituals and domestic life with archaic charm. Among the many, the Barumini complex is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
