Valle d'Aosta

The smallest region of Italy is located at the north-western end of the peninsula, on the border between France and Switzerland. The Valle d'Aosta is dotted with majestic peaks including the highest peaks of the Alps such as the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, the Gran Paradiso and its majesty the Mont Blanc which, with its 4810 m. it has no rivals in Europe: it is the roof of the old continent.
Jewel of the region is Courmayeur, considered one of the most important ski resorts in the world and the birthplace of alpinism, here the first school for alpine guides was born.
In the context of its imposing mountains and magnificent valleys is placed the first Italian National Park established in 1922, the Gran Paradiso where you can observe the animals in their natural environment: chamois, golden eagles, marmots and of course the ibex, symbol of the park.

But Valle d’Aosta is not only mountains and snow, here you can also visit some of the most beautiful castles in Italy, such as Castle of Issogne, Sarriod de la Tour, Sarre, Saint-Pierre, Ussel, just to name a few.

The road traced by the castles leads to Aosta, a concentration of Roman and medieval history, with the addition of ancient traditions.
Roman city in its essence, brings with it the visible signs of that era thanks to important monuments such as the Arch of Augustus, Porta Praetoria, the city walls, practicable almost entirely with a long and pleasant walk.
